Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch is a partnership between communities and the police to make communities safer. North Waltham is covered by 19 schemes, each with a coordinator who receives and circulates information. All newcomers are visited by their coordinator, offered the NHW pack and invited to join.

NHW reduces crime both directly and by making residents more aware of the risk. Residents report suspicious activity, dangers and even lost pets for coordinators to alert neighbours. As well as monthly crime reports from the police, coordinators receive weekly information and alerts from NHW sources to relay when relevant.
