On Thursday 12th May 2022 we held both our monthly meeting and Annual Meeting. As is traditional for an Annual Meeting we received reports looking back over the last year from the President, Treasurer and Secretary. Following many months of Zoom Meetings, in Summer 2021 we were able to meet in person in member’s gardens, then in September 2021 it was back to the Rathbone Pavilion – since then we’ve had a variety of speakers covering topics from quilting, scandals at Hampton Court, Jane Austen through to Hampshire Search and Rescue, chair yoga and the setting up of Honesty Cafes across Hampshire. Not forgetting our 86th Birthday Party in March when we had a delicious buffet provided by our members and time to chat. Thank you to the two members who agreed to join the Committee – full details of who’s who will be sent out to members in due course. We also enjoyed time catching up with friends over a coffee and a chocolate bar or two!!
Our forthcoming meetings are:
Thursday 9th June 2022: Dogs with a Mission – we will be joined by one of the amazing dogs, with their owner, from Hampshire Search and Rescue. Having heard last year about the work of HSAR and the training undergone by volunteers, it’s now time to meet their canine helpers. Weather permitting, we are planning to sit outside the Rathbone Pavilion.
Thursday 14th July 2022: Here Comes the Sun (we hope!!): – join us for our annual social highlight when we meet in a member’s garden to enjoy strawberries and cream and time to enjoy the evening.
August 2022 – Summer Break – no meeting
If you are interested in joining us at one of our Meetings, held in the Rathbone Pavilion, please contact Carolyn Brown
