Southern Water has responded to queries from the Parish Council regarding tanker activity through the village.

Q1 Are the tankers bringing in material from elsewhere for processing at North Waltham?

A1 No, no materials are being brought to site, this is removal only.

Q2 Are the tankers removing material from North Waltham for processing elsewhere?

A2 Yes, as there is currently a technical issue with the SAF (Submerged Aerated Filter) we are tankering all flows away from this site (to protect the environment) to Fullerton Waste and Recycling Centre.

Q3 For how long is this situation expected to continue?

A3 Unfortunately, we cannot give a timescale, but we’re working very hard to get the SAF back working and compliant as soon as possible.

Q4 Can the operating hours of the tanker visits be changed (e.g. to begin after 07:00)?

A4 The tankering schedule requested is Monday to Friday, to remove one load at 07.00 and two loads between 16.00 and 19.00. Saturday and Sundays are to remove two loads between 07.00 and 10.00 and 16.00 and 19.00. We’re sorry if due to unforeseen circumstances this schedule hasn’t been adhered to and will strive to make this compliant in future, to avoid any further issues with residents.
