THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (Up Street, Dummer) ORDER 2022

Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-

Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.

Effect of Order:  All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Up Street, Dummer, at its junction with Dummer Down Lane and the A30, as directed by traffic signs.  The closure is to address the deterioration and heavy chloride contaminated concrete present within the crossheads and abutment elements of the structure and to prevent any further spalling of concrete onto the footpaths/carriageway below..

Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 05 December 2022 for 1 year. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that there will be 3 separate night time closures which should take no longer than 1 night each between the hours of 2100hr and 0600hrs at any time during the period)

Alternative Route:  A30, Down Street, Up Street, Dummer Down Lane and Duxford Lane.
