Southern Water Tankers

As previously communicated the Parish Council, along with our residents, continue to have concerns about the ongoing presence of the Southern Water sewage tankers throughout the village. The tankers were first introduced following a fault at the plant which stopped the facility from being able to process wastewater on site. As such, the tankers have been a necessity over the past few years to keep the sewage treatment plant operating. However, the ongoing use of tankers has taken a toll on the traffic levels and infrastructure throughout the village. The Parish Council has on a number of occasions approached Southern Water to gain a better understanding of the current situation at the sewage treatment works and raise these concerns with them. We have been informed that works to fix the sewage treatment facility are scheduled and we are trying to establish a timeframe for this. Hampshire County Councillor, Juliet Henderson, has given her support to escalate dialogues with Southern Water so we hope to have a more detailed update for residents in the near future.
