WEST FARM LOGISTICS PARK PLANNING APPLICATION

The Parish Council have been informed that West Farm Popham Limited have formally submitted their planning application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for the Popham Logistics Park on the A33. The long-term proposal seeks to develop a 3million square foot logistics hub, within minutes’ drive from the village. The application is not yet live on the Basingstoke and Deane portal but once active, we encourage resident’s to submit their comments on the application.

LITTERPICK

Thank you to all that supported our spring litter pick on Saturday 21st March, the village is looking much tidier as a result.

HOSPITAL LAND PURCHASE

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has purchased land on the A30, next to the village, to build a new hospital, with construction expected to begin between 2037 and 2039. The size of the plot is 125.8 acres and is part of the Southern Manydown land, specifically Southwood Farm. The land borders Maidenthorne Lane and is behind the North Waltham Business Centre.

The Parish Council has received confirmation that ‘In the immediate future, there will be no changes to how the land is used. The site will continue to be actively farmed, ensuring it remains productive and well‑maintained. This will allow the land to stay in beneficial use and preserves its condition until any formal decisions are made.’
