TREES NEAR THE POND
The Willow next to the pond has recently undergone much needed pollarding work. This was based on advice from the health check conducted on the willow last year, which identified that the tree is experiencing some decay and needed to reduce the weight it is bearing to help maintain the tree’s structural integrity and extend its life. The tree should recover quickly and be back in bloom soon. A team of volunteers have helped us plant three new Whitebeams next to the pond to replace the Cherry trees that were removed last year. We have also planted a new Weeping Willow near the picnic benches, which we hope will take nicely. Thank you to Alan Purkiss, our Tree Warden and the volunteers who helped with the planting.
