POND REFURBISHMENT
Recent works at the pond have made significant progress, with the removal of over 200 tonnes of sludge – much more than any of us could have anticipated. We are extremely grateful to residents for their patience during the works, particularly for avoiding parking near the pond and allowing the contractors safe access. The next step will be a professional inspection of the pond liner; although it appears to be in good condition, we have asked a specialist to review its structural integrity. Once this is complete, we will simply wait for the rain to refill the pond (a few of the councillors have their rain dances at the ready!). Until then, safety fencing will remain in place, and we kindly remind everyone not to enter the barricaded area, as the pond sides are very steep. Moving forward, we are looking at planting options to enhance the area as well as considering long-term maintenance solutions to ensure the pond is well cared for in the future.
