It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Maud Eleanor Hobbs BEM. Maud (known as Eleanor) lived in North Waltham for over 25 years, before moving to Barnstaple to be with family in 2020. Maud received the British Empire Medal in 2014 in recognition of her services to education, having been a volunteer in North Waltham School for over 20 years, reading to the children. She will be much missed but remembered with joy and gratitude for a life well lived.
