POND PARTY PROVING POPULAR

Organisers are reporting that Long Table places at next month’s Coronation pond street party are rapidly being snapped up.

The historic event, at the heart of North Waltham on the day after the Coronation, is for villagers to come together to celebrate King Charles coming to the throne.

Already almost 100 people have booked places at the Long Tables which will be set up along Church Road near the pond. The Long Tables will be supplied already decorated by the organisers, who now have plans to provide even more tables to meet demand. But if bookings continue at the current rate, then villagers leaving their requests for too long for places at a Long Table may be disappointed.

However, even without a Long Table place, people will still be able to join the historic street party, bringing their own tables and chairs to the pond and setting them up before the 3pm start.

The afternoon tea party and entertainment on Sunday May 7 is free but people are asked to bring their own food and drink. Additional refreshments will be available for sale from our beverages and soft drinks van and from Suki’s ice cream stall.

To reserve your Long Table places, perhaps joining with friends or neighbours, email coronation.tableplaces@gmail.com as soon as possible.
