Highway Code Changes. The AA has warned that two-thirds of drivers are unaware of major revisions to the Highway Code that will come into force at the end of this month. The changes include new rules that require road users to give way to pedestrians at junctions, and guidance on how drivers should overtake cyclists and open car doors. The revised code also sets a “hierarchy” of road users, requiring those who pose the greatest risk of causing harm in accidents to take the most care.
